The dialogues between colleagues differed from those between a boss, an employee or a student, and a professor. In this case, colleagues are more close and comfortable with each other than bosses, their employees, professors, and their students. Although the employees may not judge each other in the conversations, they may tend to retain some information about their topic to maintain some form of privacy in their lives. For instance, employees may choose not to expose issues that would affect their relationships in the workplace. The employees would casually start a conversation between them. In this case, the employees may not have to point out the reasons and significance of starting their conversation. There was a small level of discomfort in the dialogues between employees. The dialogues between the two colleagues changed since both had almost the same level of comfort with each other. Senior employees are more comfortable with each other, while junior employees are casual and open. The conversations may have been affected by the content of the dialogue. As mentioned, privacy is a sensitive issue that may affect colleague conversations. Two Siblings

How did the Dialogue Change?

I find it easier to converse with my sibling than having one with a romantic partner. Our dialogue is highly casual and less formal since we are more comfortable with each other. Conversations between siblings flow more freely. They are open to each other and hold conversations more willingly. In this case, asking for a favor from my sibling is one of my easiest things. In this case, a conversation between a professor and student may be asymmetrical, where the professor may speak much over the student while explaining a learning topic. The dialogues between colleagues change based on their relationship with each other. Siblings have close and personal relationships that allow them to be open and honest about any issues affecting them. Therefore, they are more comfortable with each other compared to when colleagues are holding conversations. Unlike siblings with personal relationships, colleagues may prefer not to share information they regard as personal since they are in working relationships. How did the Dialogue Change?

Dialogues between a boss and an employee take a formal approach. Formal phrases in the dialogues include ‘Sir or Madam, may I or please .’Unlike siblings, the boss is superior to the employee, the junior in their conversations. The dialogue between a boss and an employee is asymmetrical, indicating that one party will be expected to talk much (Pickering & Garrod, 2021) (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

In this case, an employee will be expected to talk much while the boss’s response will be expected to be short and precise. The employee should explain the line and purpose of their dialogue. For instance, I am expected to introduce myself to my boss and describe the reasons and significance of holding a specific conversation with them.

Thus, starting a dialogue with my boss is hard for me. I feel like my boss will judge and label me as a failure. I prefer to only ask for favors that are work-related from my boss. Besides explaining the significance of their dialogue with their bosses, employees must start the conversation by creating a good impression. For instance, employees may start by claiming they have worked hard for their company and have always been on time. The dialogue changed based on the type of relationship between the employee and the boss. Employees with formal relationships with their bosses should reflect the same in the dialogues. The dialogue changed since the employee should address the boss with utmost courtesy and respect. Although the employee may be asking for a favor, it is important to show competence and professionalism based on their relationship with the boss.
