Research has become an integral component of modern healthcare practice. Research dissemination allows the translation of evidence to foster change and facilitate its uptake in practice and decision-making. I will present my evidence at the 2024 National Annual Conference organized by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). The care bundle implements prevention, detection, case management elements, and implementation of structures such as Alcohol-based sanitizers in all care points to curb infections (García et al., 2022). The rapid and continuous change in the healthcare environment and disease complexity necessitate health providers to evaluate and update their practice frequently as per the current and emerging research developments. Evidence-based practice has been vital to improving care quality and patient outcomes. Therefore, BSN- programs should focus on EBP by providing high-quality education and competent skill training (Zellefrow et al., 2023). Evidence-based practice advocates for change in the education of nursing students to integrate more research-relevant and practical training while fostering collaboration between researchers and clinicians (Research Dissemination-Nursing Paper Examples).
Evidence-based practice strengthens health outcomes through improved healthcare delivery. It allows the integration of the best available evidence, patient values and clinical expertise, and situations related to patient management, decision-making, and health policy (Bégin et al., 2020). One method I will continue to integrate EBP is continued education to improve my knowledge, skills, and competency. Through continued education, I will improve my research skills to be updated on innovative care practices and emerging health technologies. By so doing, I will lead and support healthy changes designed to improve care quality and patient safety. The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) (2023) has guidelines that assist health professionals in managing side effects relating to cancer treatment. The clinical practice guidelines offer evidence-based symptom management and patient care. The guidelines incorporate published research with expert approval of evidence’s certainty, benefits and harm’s balance, patient values, and preferences. The guidelines are easy to follow as they reflect stoplight colors. In this case, green implies that the treatment is recommended and likely effective, yellow implies that the benefits and harms are balanced (effectiveness not established), and red implies that treatment effectiveness is unlikely (ONS, 2023).
Although continued education will improve my practice, lack of support from healthcare organizations and other healthcare staff will limit my ability to implement evidence-based changes necessary to improve care quality and patient safety. Strategic planning before proposing and implementing change will be vital to obtain stakeholders’ support. For instance, I will present my change and its significance toward care delivery. Secondly, there is an obstacle since no evidence-based guidelines exist for all conditions. However, competent research, critical thinking, and clinical experience will improve my clinical judgment and decision-making to provide competent care (Research Dissemination-Nursing Paper Examples).
