Problem-solving-Nursing Paper Examples

Problem-solving entails finding solutions to contemporary problems affecting daily human activities. One of the challenges associated with human cognitive functioning is eating disorders. According to Bullivant et al. (2020), finding solutions to eating disorders is challenging among many people due to emotional disorders like stress and depression. Depressed or stressed individuals tend to eat less and find it difficult to overcome the problem. Besides, childhood obesity also increases the risk of eating disorders (Problem-solving).

Obese children or those with a history of obesity eat less to avoid adding more weight. Individuals with personality traits like an increased drive for perfectionism may also incur eating problems. Such people are inclined towards maintaining a perfect body, increasing the risk of developing anorexia. Lastly, individuals with type I diabetes face challenges resolving eating problems (Oldham-Cooper & Semple, 2021). They develop disordered eating behaviors like skipping meals and restricting calories to help manage their health (Problem-solving).

Therapy can help identify the root cause of depression and recommend strategies for overcoming it. Effective management of type I diabetes is crucial in reducing disordered eating behaviors like skipping meals (Oldham-Cooper & Semple, 2021). Early diagnosis and adequate treatment of the underlying type I diabetes condition is necessary for such patients. In this regard, the eating problem is a contemporary challenge requiring concerted efforts and collaboration between the affected individual and relevant health service professionals like psychotherapists.
