Week 8- Health Policy

Health policy is society’s laws, rules, initiatives, and decisions to advance wellness and guarantee the achievement of particular health objectives. The variety of public health policies includes formal laws and community engagement initiatives. Health policy is first created at the national or state level and then further refined or adjusted in hospitals and other clinical environments. Professional Practice related to Health Policy

Health policy aims at protecting and promoting the health of individuals and the community. Health policy is aspirational, intended to convey to healthcare professionals the type of results they aim for. Establishing responsibilities and expectations for various groups, including doctors, nurses, and administrators, is a benefit of health policy. It also aids in the clarification of priorities. Personal Strengths and/or Weaknesses r/t Health Policy

            I am well versed with local, public, pharmaceuticals, health equity, and insurance health policies, which have been instrumental in promoting individual and community health. However, I need to learn more about global health policy to work with patients from other countries and understand how healthcare systems operate outside the United States.
