Response to Discussion One

Thank you for an informative and engaging discussion. I agree that nurses play a fundamental role in patient education. Nurses spend more time with the patient than any healthcare provider, gaining an in-depth understanding of the patient’s healthcare needs, which helps develop comprehensive patient education plans (Arkansas State University, 2016). Nurses are also integral in planning and coordinating patient and family education to ensure the continuation of care across the continuum. Nurses work in teams and engage other healthcare providers in the care process. Nurses should consider interdisciplinary team members when planning patient education or developing individualized care plans (Arkansas State University, 2016). The input of every member is vital in patient education because different professions have different understandings of the patient’s condition based on their professional training.(Nurse’s role discussion essay-sample)

Response to Discussion Two

Hello,

Thank you for the great post. Indeed nurses are elemental in patient education. Patient education begins from admission to discharge. Nurses, particularly bedside nurses, are with the patient the longest of all healthcare providers, playing a critical role in observing, detecting, and advocating for the patient. Nurses also coordinate care and plan patient and family education to ensure continuity of care after discharge (Marshall et al., 2020). Indeed nurses work with other healthcare professionals to personalize or provide patient-centered care, which caters to patients’ needs. Coordinating complex requires nursing support and health education to health patients navigate the healthcare system. I concur that behavioral goals should be considered when developing patient care plans because they help determine what patients can change to improve their well-being.(Nurse’s role discussion essay-sample)

Response to Discussion Three

Hello,

Your discussion is exciting and insightful. Indeed nurses are responsible for educating patients and families to improve their health and well-being. Nurses have a primary role as educators and should be committed and invested in patient education. Nurses’ role in patient education includes identifying and understanding patient and family educational needs, coordinating care, and reinforcing patient and family relationships (Bergh et al., 2018). Nurses should provide patients with the necessary resources to enhance their health literacy. Nurses facilitate learning, which is highly dependent on patient and family behavior. Therefore, nurses should consider behavioral goals to develop recommendations regarding behavioral changes necessary to promote health and well-being, for instance, enough sleep and eating healthy.(Nurse’s role discussion essay-sample)
