Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples

How did the Dialogue Change? (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples)

The dialogues between colleagues differed from those between a boss, an employee or a student, and a professor. In this case, colleagues are more close and comfortable with each other than bosses, their employees, professors, and their students. Although colleagues may not be 100% close, their dialogues were less formal and casual compared to bosses and their employees (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

Although the employees may not judge each other in the conversations, they may tend to retain some information about their topic to maintain some form of privacy in their lives. For instance, employees may choose not to expose issues that would affect their relationships in the workplace. Therefore, it was easier for the employees to communicate as they belonged in the same wave.

The employees would casually start a conversation between them. In this case, the employees may not have to point out the reasons and significance of starting their conversation. There was a small level of discomfort in the dialogues between employees. As such, it was easier for employees to accept their shortcomings and ask for help compared to what it would have felt when conversing with their bosses (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

Why did the dialogues change?

The dialogues between the two colleagues changed since both had almost the same level of comfort with each other. The colleagues felt that they were equals and would not judge each other based on the contents of the discussion. However, it is not the same as when siblings are conversing. The colleagues better understood each other compared to relationships between bosses and employees (Kashyap, 2023) (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

The conversation also changes since the employees are closer to each other and relate day in and day out while performing their duties in the workplace. Another major issue that may have affected the conversation between colleagues is their job positions in the workplace.

Although the employees are expected to be close, senior and junior employees may be more formal and respectful while holding conversations. Senior employees are more comfortable with each other, while junior employees are casual and open. The conversations may have been affected by the content of the dialogue. As mentioned, privacy is a sensitive issue that may affect colleague conversations. The colleagues may have protected some details about personal issues that may have affected their working relationship (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

Two Siblings

How did the Dialogue Change?

I find it easier to converse with my sibling than having one with a romantic partner. Our dialogue is highly casual and less formal since we are more comfortable with each other. Conversations between siblings flow more freely. They are open to each other and hold conversations more willingly. For instance, my sibling and I are best friends, and we can converse and ask each other about anything (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

In this case, asking for a favor from my sibling is one of my easiest things. I would say, “I need a favor with this, and you do it?” Although a conversation between siblings is less formal and casual, it has to be respectful to encourage them to listen to your concerns (Krause, 2022). My sibling and I grew up together, and our experiences have made us be there for each other at all costs (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

The dialogue between me and my sibling is more symmetrical as we balance how much one speaks. In this case, a conversation between a professor and student may be asymmetrical, where the professor may speak much over the student while explaining a learning topic. Notably, the dialogues between me and my sibling are more specific, detaining even my personal issues since my sibling would not be judgmental but would be empathetic regardless of my situation (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

Why did the dialogues change?

The dialogues between colleagues change based on their relationship with each other. Siblings have close and personal relationships that allow them to be open and honest about any issues affecting them. Therefore, they are more comfortable with each other compared to when colleagues are holding conversations. Unlike siblings with personal relationships, colleagues may prefer not to share information they regard as personal since they are in working relationships. Dialogues between my sibling and me also changed because I am comfortable with them and am not embarrassed to ask for any favors from them (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

My siblings are approachable, and I have asked for their help; thus, I know how to do it. The dialogues may begin as casual jokes and take a serious perspective where my sibling listens to my genuine concerns and attempts to make me feel better and assured to help me. However, age may be a factor in why dialogues between siblings change. For instance, dialogues between siblings with a wide age gap may be more formal and casual than when the age gap is smaller (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

Employee Talking to Boss

How did the Dialogue Change?

Dialogues between a boss and an employee take a formal approach. Formal phrases in the dialogues include ‘Sir or Madam, may I or please .’Unlike siblings, the boss is superior to the employee, the junior in their conversations. The dialogue between a boss and an employee is asymmetrical, indicating that one party will be expected to talk much (Pickering & Garrod, 2021) (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

In this case, an employee will be expected to talk much while the boss’s response will be expected to be short and precise. The employee should explain the line and purpose of their dialogue. For instance, I am expected to introduce myself to my boss and describe the reasons and significance of holding a specific conversation with them.

Thus, starting a dialogue with my boss is hard for me. I feel like my boss will judge and label me as a failure. I prefer to only ask for favors that are work-related from my boss. Besides explaining the significance of their dialogue with their bosses, employees must start the conversation by creating a good impression. For instance, employees may start by claiming they have worked hard for their company and have always been on time. For this reason, dialogues make the employee uncomfortable when asking for favor as they may need clarification on what to say and approach the whole situation (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

Why did the dialogues change?

The dialogue changed based on the type of relationship between the employee and the boss. Employees with formal relationships with their bosses should reflect the same in the dialogues. For instance, the dialogue uses different formal phrases, as listed above. The conversation changes since they are uncomfortable with them. In this case, the employee may feel embarrassed to ask for favors or portray their weaknesses, which may impact their working relationship (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).

The dialogue changed since the employee should address the boss with utmost courtesy and respect. Although the employee may be asking for a favor, it is important to show competence and professionalism based on their relationship with the boss. Employees can ask for favors from their bosses if they do it correctly to preserve their respect and dignity (Two Colleagues Dialogue-Nursing Paper Examples).
