Two models commonly used to facilitate EBP in nursing are the Stetler Model of Research Utilization to Facilitate EBP (Stetler, 2001) and the Iowa Model of Evidence-Based Practice to Promote Quality of Care (Titler et al., 2001). Different models are used to make nursing practice more evidence-based, with Stetler Model being one of the most common models. The Stetler Model was developed in 1975 to assist healthcare providers in making better use of evidence-based practice (Indra, 2018). In addition, Stetler Model sets up a standard structure to help nurses make better use of research confirmation and to promote evidence-based practice(Understanding EBP Discussion Essay). Nurses and nurse practitioners use data from studies to help them give precise directions, settle significant cases, and impact larger policy decisions (Indra, 2018).(Understanding EBP Discussion Essay) The Stetler Model helps implement EBP in practice, administration, and education settings because it specifies the necessary processes for generating an evidence-based action plan and conducting research assessments. This model’s five phases are preparation, validation, decision-making, application, and evaluation (Indra, 2018). According to Hofmeyer and Taylor (2021), the stated regulations, methods, and procedures must be considered to implement evidence-based practice. Also, the administration, leaders, and the medical care team must work closely to accomplish these changes.
