Working in an urgent care facility, I have recently encountered a 20-year-old female with Infectious mononucleosis, commonly known as mono. She complained of feeling tired, sore throat, body and headache, swollen lymph nodes on armpits and neck, and rash skin. Based on these symptoms, I guessed she had infectious mononucleosis (Cai et al., 2021).

I further probed her recent experiences to ensure I made the right diagnosis. She was in her second year of college and had recent sexual intercourse with a male she had bumped into a party. However, she claims to have used protection but may have gotten an infection through kissing. I was proud that she used protection, especially because she was drunk and unsure of the other partner’s health status. Additionally, complications may occur if the condition is left untreated. These complications include anemia, hepatitis, jaundice, meningitis, and myocarditis (Li et al., 2018).

Action Plan
