The ANA 2021 Standards of Professional Performance require nurses to demonstrate advocacy in all roles and settings and contribute to the quality of nursing practice (Wisconsin Technical College System, 2021). The project will be supported by implementing an IPV policy, a form of advocacy to address the problem. The national patient safety goals that require hospitals and professionals to identify patient safety risks will also affect the practicum project. The standards are good for the project and will act as a guide rather than a barrier.
