\nOverview:
\nThis course is a good introduction into human behaviors within organizations. To get a little deeper
\ninto the course, you will select an area of interest, further explore it by reviewing some published
\nliterature, and then construct a scholarly paper<\/a> and submit for this course. You may choose one of
\nthe topics from the list below. However, if you prefer a topic not on the list, you may submit the
\ntopic of interest and a rough outline to me for approval before you proceed.
\nYour topic for the project could be one of the following:(Increasing motivation in healthcare-sample Essay)
\no Leadership
\no Conflict<\/a> Resolution
\no Increasing motivation
\no Teams and Team Building
\no Being a Change<\/a> Agent
\no Stress Management\/Prevention in the Workplace
\nHow to Start:
\no Once you have your topic, do some literature research using the BSN library website for
\npublished journal articles<\/a> that are relevant to your topic to see what is out there. Reviewing
\nsome literature will give you some ideas about the direction<\/a> of your paper and what to
\nwrite.(Increasing motivation in healthcare-sample Essay)
\no Start developing an outline and make sure that your outline follows\/covers all the sections
\nrequired in the specific instructions for the body of the paper (see the Project Grading Scale).
\no Select the journal articles to use to substantiate your paper. Then, begin your writing.
\nSpecific Instructions for the Format:
\n1. Do not use the first pronoun, such as I, my, me, unless you are asked specifically for your
\npersonal viewpoints.
\n2. Your paper<\/a> should not be shorter than 3 pages but no longer 6 pages in length (excluding the
\ntitle page and the reference page), double spaced, with 1\u201d margins and font size of either 11
\nor 12.
\n3. Follow strictly the correct APA format and style, both in in-text citations and reference list.
\nConsult the APA Manual (7th ed.), APA Style Guide to e-References (7th ed.), and\/or the APA
\nFormat and Style Guide if necessary.<\/p>\n
\n4. Use correct grammar, spellings, and punctuations throughout the paper.
\n5. Begin your paper with a title page with a Running head and format that is in the APA format
\nbut slightly modified for use with assignments submitted in this program that includes the
\ntype of assignment (paper), course number and name, program, academic year, semester,
\ninstitution.
\nThe Sample Title Page containing an example of the title page with explanations of a format
\nof main document, and the instructions on how to create the title page are provided under
\nthe Other Resources module. I strongly recommend you review them. Strictly follow the
\nformat on this title page and the main document<\/a>. Remember to have a Running head and

\n6. Number all pages, including the reference page. Begin your reference list on a new page.
\n7. The references must also be double spaced, each of which must have a hanging indent. See
\np. 58-59 in the APA manual for the overall look of the references.
\n8. Provide an appropriate<\/a> heading for each section of your paper. Level of headings to use for
\nthe paper is explained in the Sample Title Page. Do not write and submit a paper without
\nheadings. The sections indicated in the assignment\u2019s grading scale can be used as a guide for
\nthe headings and how to organize your paper.
\n9. Save your assignment in a MS Word<\/a> (.doc) or PDF for submission.
\nSpecific Instructions for the Body of the Paper:
\n1. Your paper will consist of the following sections:
\no Introduction \u2013 Introduce your area\/topic\/issue of interest and what it is about.
\no Significance of the topic\/issue \u2013
\no Discuss why this issue\/topic of your choice is important to organizations and\/or
\nto people who work in them.
\no Include a situation or example that become an issue<\/a> or problematic to
\norganization or employees, requiring an intervention in order to solve the
\nissue\/problem. The situation or example here is not a case study<\/a> or scenario. It
\nshould be brief and serve as an overview or example of the problem or issue that
\ndemonstrates the significance of the issue if nothing is done to resolve it.
\no Literature Review \u2013 Review a minimum of 2 published journal articles obtained from
\npeer-reviewed journals(Increasing motivation in healthcare-sample Essay)
\no Your chosen journal articles to review here must be relevant to your chosen
\ntopic and situation described<\/a> in the previous section
\no The aspects of the reviewed articles in this section depends on the direction of
\nyour paper and should have a connection to the next section.
\no Case Scenario \u2013 Create your own scenario or choose one of the additionally provided
\ncase studies posted under this module. You may not reuse the scenarios that you have
\nused before in any course assignments, including the discussion board<\/a> postings.<\/p>\n
\nFor the case scenario in this paper, you will —
\n\uf0fc Summarize the case or describe your scenario with key elements sufficient to
\ndemonstrate the issue\/problem that is in need of intervention. If you use a case
\nstudy provided in the course, do not copy and paste the entire case to your
\npaper.
\n\uf0fc Briefly identify issue(s)\/problem(s) from your case study<\/a> or scenario above
\n\uf0fc Propose two (2) possible interventions, preferably from the management\/
\norganizational standpoints that could be used to resolve the issue\/problem
\nidentified earlier. These two proposed interventions should be substantiated by
\nliterature.
\n\uf0fc Choose one of the two proposed interventions above and provide rationale for
\nmaking the choice, as opposed to the other one.
\no Conclusion
\n2. Provide a minimum of four (4) references.
\no Three (3) must be articles from peer-reviewed journals.
\no All references must be within the last 5years.
\no All references must be cited both in-text and on the reference list using the correct APA<\/a>
\nformat. You may use your course textbook as one of your references. Make sure you
\nreference it correctly both in text and in the reference list.
\nKeep in mind that this paper is only 3-6 pages long and double spaced. Therefore, organize your
\npaper nicely so that it covers all the required section and also flows well. Remember to write

\nUsing the PSC Library databases
\nYou are able to log on to the BSN library website from anywhere to gain access to our library
\ndatabases, such as CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsychINFO, and OVID. Most journal articles on these
\ndatabases are available in full-texts and downloadable. That means you can do as many searches
\nand save as many journal articles to your computer as you wish with no costs. The instructions for
\nhow to do literature search<\/a> using library databases are posted in the Course Information module.

\nSubmission & Due Date
\no Submit your portfolio project as an attachment in a Word or a PDF through a drop box
\nlocated in the Portfolio Project module
\no The due date is the last day of week<\/a> 9 – Sunday July 16 @ 11:59 pm. After this date and time,
\nthe drop box will become inaccessible for submission. Any submissions past this date and
\ntime will not be accepted through other means and a zero will be assigned for the project.<\/p>\n
